1962 Willys Station Wagon
-Close to Completion!-
This is my 1962 Willys Jeep station wagon. I have spent three years working on this and hundreds of hours getting the body absolutely rust free. Unfortunately I do not have the shop space and the money to continue on this project, so I have to take a loss and see it to a new owner. I have over $15,000 in just parts on this that haven't been installed yet.
The front sub frame is from a 1970 Chevy Nova, all new shocks, bushings, ball joints, with a brand new disk brake conversion. Brand new steering box. The rear axle is a GM axle with a disk brake conversion that hasn't been installed yet. The engine is a Chevy small block V8 with a Chevy automatic transmission. This has a brand new set of center dump headers, an eddlebrock intake manifold, and carb that probably should be rebuilt, new manifold and valve cover gaskets, new freeze plugs, new water pump, and a mechanical fuel pump block off. New alternator, starter, and distributor.
Every single bit of rust has been removed and replaced. The entire frame and underbody has been sandblasted and painted with two coats of POR15 so it will never rust again. All of the front floor pans have been replaced, the rear tailgate section, an rear door sill have been as well. The fire wall has all been plugged and sealed for a clean finish. The entire body has been sprayed with a two stage epoxy primer inside and out. I have already purchased all new window and door seals ($700), New two piece windshield, brand new headliner ($700), new front seat upholstery to match ($500), brand new tires and rims that have never seen the road, new master cylinder to match the disk brakes front and rear. I have purchased many more brand new parts, and absolutely every thing I have bought for this project will go with the Jeep. I do have two hoods, the one not in primer is in better shape and does not have any rust other than the surface rust.
Most of the body has custom modifications done while the rust repair was happening. Fender flares were added over the rear tires, light enclosures were added to upgrade to 15" LED tail lights, the battery box has been relocated under the floor to clean up the engine bay, new headlights and turn signal lenses were purchased. This Jeep came original with the very rare 'maverick' trim package and I have been able to track down all of the trim to complete this kit.
There is much more to list beyond this, and I fully believe the parts alone are worth this to someone who may be restoring another willys wagon, or would like to complete this.
